Head of School
I once heard a Pastor share that his favorite story in all four gospels was the story in John 2 of Jesus being invited to a wedding in Cana of Galilee. He goes on to say that Jesus turning the water into wine is one of the most miraculous things Jesus has ever done. The Pastor argues that when Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes, the ingredients were there. When he raised Lazarus from the dead, the ingredients were there. But when he turned the water into wine he did so without grapes.
The SMA recipe is simple. Young women who are motivated to live, learn, love, and serve. Parents who love and care for their daughters. Faculty and Staff who demonstrate Jesus’s love through care, high expectations, and high supports. When these ingredients are present, the sky is the limit for the student. But what happens when all the ingredients aren’t there? What happens when life impacts us physically, emotionally, or spiritually and we are unable to give our all? God is the secret sauce to our recipe. He fills in the cracks caused by life.
SMA is a community that believes in a God that specializes in transformation even when the ingredients are missing. I invite you to come visit this amazing community where Christ lives, young women learn, parents love, faculty and staff serve, and we all work together to prepare and empower young women to take their place as leaders in an ever-changing world.
It’s a great day to be SMA!
